DECORATING A SMALL SPACE // OLIVIA'S NURSERY.

Seeing as I've finally finished Olivia's nursery I thought I'd do a post about it. After doing a lot of research online about decorating 'small bedrooms' it became very apparent that small did not have the same meaning to most people. Olivia's nursery is approximately 6.6ft x 6.8ft in size, so I didn't have much space to work with at all! In the end I put all my effort in (with the help of my lovely mother) and I'm really happy with the outcome.

This is Olivia's nursery - very pink, very girly; very cute. To make the room look as big as possible I chose to paint the main walls white and have one 'feature wall' (using Dulux 'Sorbet'), I chose to do a striped design which I believe helps to make the nursery look bigger.  As I had to be conscious of space, this IKEA armchair was perfect and so comfy! I obviously covered it with a throw blanket in case of spit ups or spills. Also from IKEA is this pink flower wall-lamp, I think it complements the room nicely and makes it look so cosy at night.

I loooove this bunting, I didn't want to ruin the stripes by painting on them so this seemed like the better option. I cannot find the online shop for this particular one but there are so many on Etsy and Ebay.

This cot bed is from Argos by BabyStart, I chose a similar one for Emilia's room as I'm really impressed with the brand and the value for money. The bedding and AirWrap bumpers are from Emilia's room now she uses a pillow and duvet. The nighlight is from Argos by Fisher Price and the spiral cot toy is from Asda.

Again, these blocks are soo beautiful, both my girls have them in their rooms - they were a present from their Nanna so I have no idea where they're from. I'd imagine that Ebay and Etsy sell them.

Seeing as there isn't much space in Olivia's nursery, this set of plastic drawers on wheels from Argos were a godsend! Such a great storage solution for small spaces as it can be pushed behind the crib when it's not being used, it's very functional. I was very conscious not to put too much on the walls and make the room look smaller, so this white shelf from Homebase works great. Also my mum made this beautiful canvas picture/nightlight that we use every single night. It says 'Olivia' on it in Disney font with stars around it, it has 3D butterflies on the outside and inside with fairy-lights popped through. It's so lovely to have one-of-a-kind handmade items that are made with love.

On top of the plastic drawers unit I keep Olivia's nappies and wipes (from Asda) and some of my favourite baby products including these fabulous Earth Friendly Baby products from Lanisoh, we use them every bathtime.

To keep her walls simple I chose to use these wall stickers from B&M and put them around her collage frame.

I hope this helped anyone who's expecting a baby or even just interested in ways to decorate a tiny bedroom/nursery.
